The 17th Face-to-Face Open Workshop took place at the 2004 NSF Design, Service and Manufacturing Grantees and Research Conference in Dallas, Texas. The panelists provided some unique and interesting perspectives on the state of DBD and as always, the open question session was full of great questions and interesting responses.

The panelists for the workshop were Dr. David Ullman from Robust Decisions, Inc. and Ali Abbas of Stanford University. Dr. Ullman gave a discussion on the role of decision management in the development of products with an interesting case study from Hewlett-Packard. Mr. Abbas centered his discussion on the evolution of decision analysis and also provided an interesting Corvette design case study. There presentations are included below.
